What is Vinyl Siding?

Vinyl siding was first introduced to the market in the early 1960’s and has now become one of the most popular ways homeowners can surface the outside walls of their homes.  It is made with tough exterior grade “PVC” which stands for polyvinyl chloride.  By definition PVC is a chemical: a white water-insoluble, thermoplastic resin, derived by the polymerization of vinyl chloride, used primarily for thin coatings, insulation and pipings.
