When installing a rubber roof you must decide if you want to have a tapered system or a flat roof.  The standard rubber roof is installed with a half inch board which is mechanically fastened to the roof deck with plates and screws

The rubber is then adhered to the board with a bonding adhesive and the seams are taped together with seam tape.

 

     

The junction  points covered with anchore tape or cover tape. Some houses or buildings have parapette walls which can either be covered with rubber or some typoe of fabricated metal.

Tappered Roofing system
A tapered system is designed to shed water of the roof toward a desired location.  This is done with Poly ISO Board (Polyisocyaanurate)

Insulation
Application of the Poly-ISO board can also be used for its insulating ablities.  Below is a chart with the R-Values associated with the thickness of the board
