New Flashing

Transition Flashing on Roof
This is probably the most important part of a roof detail.  If a roof is stripped and there is no existing step flashing or the step flashing is old and deteriorated it must be replaced in order for the new roof to function properly.

This may involve removing the existing siding and residing the transition points.  We will provide you with a separate price for this work and alternative materials that may be used. (Vinyl, shingles, clapboards etc.)

Once this area is cleaned up, we install ice & water shield on the wall and fold it over to the roof deck.  We then install step flashing to provide additional protection to the junction point.

WOOD
When a transition wall is removed we like to install new siding – clapboard, vinyl or Hardi Plank.  The siding then needs to be, at minimum, primed if not entirely painted.

VINYL

When the siding is vinyl we can usually remove it and re-install it.  If the siding is old it may have oxidized over the years and became brittle.  In this case, it could brake or crack and we would recommend installing new vinyl.  Colors may differ due to the age of the vinyl and the amount of sunlight exposure.  The best color match would be used.
